• Unilever - (Non)food-processing multinational (assignment in Switzerland) Advising on strategic procurement of worldwide edible raw materials trading (systems, pricing, trends, etc)
• Arla Food Group - Scandinavian dairy multinational (assignment in Denmark and Sweden). Subject matter expert and project leader, delivering expertise on food ingredients and setting up full purchasing process (RFI / RFP) concepts resulting into substantial savings.
• Dutch Red Cross - International Aid organization (2 years interim management). In charge of the procurement department, restructuring and repositioning the procurement organization by sourcing, coaching and knowledge transfer. € 1.3 mil savings achieved.
1993 - 1998 Consultancy BV – Oegstgeest / The Netherlands
Interim-management & Consultancy. Executed assignments :
• Interim Procurement Manager Royal Numico (ex Nutricia) Restructured and clustered the decentralized purchasing units inside Nutricia Overseas into a coordinated procurement unit. Introduction of methodologies, strategic sourcing, dual-sourcing. Realized € 1 mil savings.
• Interim General Manager Royal Numico Balkan countries. Accountable for export activities, selection of distribution channels / agents and acquisition of joint venture partners.
• Consultancy Dutch Red Cross in cooperation with Geneva headquarters. Developed a joint-labeling strategy for consumer products. In principle agreements were concluded with leading consumer-brand manufacturers but internal political barriers killed the project in the end.

1988 - 1993 : C.M. van Sillevoldt, Managing Director Business Unit – Papendrecht / The Netherlands.
Managing rice & pulses processing business unit, P&L responsible (turnover € 70 mil, group € 90 mil). In charge of daily management, procurement, production, sales key-account private label management, exports. Realized volume growth of 25% and 30% increased turnover. Procurement spend reduced by 10%. Profit contribution to Group increased to 30% of total net profit.

1977 - 1987 : Cargill – Large USA commodity food en feed trading multinational
• USA Rice account, Vice President – Houston / Texas
Managing USA rice trading, € 40 million turnover, 8 people trading team. Both cash and futures trading. Sourcing rice, toll-milling agreements with rice-millers, global exporting.
• Senior Merchant - Amsterdam
Managing European tapioca trading account, buying from Thailand selling to compound feed and alcohol industries. Profitable P & L.
• Assistant General Manager – Bangkok / Thailand
In charge of all domestic tapioca activities. Managed the trading team (10 persons), raw material sourcing, logistical handling and exporting bulk-size cargoes to mainly Europe.
• Junior Merchant - Amsterdam
Trading cane- and beet molasses serving as raw material for animal feed, alcohol and yeast industries. Introduced a new target strategy resulting into significantly improved trading margins through “niche” selling to pharmaceutical companies.
