Work Experience

IT manager:
For a software development company I developed an application for the registration of absenteeism of employees due to illness and holidays. Although the software focuses on the Dutch market, with all the controls to comply with the Dutch laws, it is in principle a multilingual, multi-organisation, international Caché application offered as an application service. It can be used worldwide. As IT manager I was responsible for the total development project and whole life cycle of the software. The most advanced tools from Intersystems were used namely a Caché database with XHTM, XML, CSP* and cachéscript and Ensemble for rapid application integration with Peoplesoft, Oracle, SAP HR. The project was executed in accordance with Prince2 principles.
*CSP is similar to active server pages (ASP) but much faster.

Programme manager:
The rol out of a unique ERP software for the manufacturing of cardboard boxes. The companies strategy is to roll out this software Europe wide. The first four implementations were to be in England followed by France and Germany. In total 50 international implementations have to be performed. I was the programme manager responsible for the four implementations in England and build a framework for the German implementations. The projects were executed in accordance with the Prince2 project management principles.

Manager Business Consultants:
For one of the top five enterprise software solutions vendors in America. The Financials, Procurement, Human resources and CRM suites are fully web-based solutions. I was responsible for setting up and maintaining the relationships with our business partners. Managing the implementation projects and 3rd parties involved. Training and guiding new consultants. Replying to requests for Information and proposals. Projects varying from $250.000 to $1 million.

Software development manager:
Developed and installed a modified J.D.Edwards distribution system for a Forest Product and Tissue Manufacturer. Evaluation of software packages for the different divisions.
Co-ordination of 22 analyst/programmers inclusive 8 contractors.
Projectsize: 2000 mandays, 8 months, $2.500.000.
Supervised all software development on IBM AS400.
Liaise with different divisions to create long term I.T. plans.

Project manager:
Assisting hands-on with a project to create an audit system for a gambling auditing authority. Tasks involved were project management, setting developing standards, writing program specifications, system testing and problem solving. Projectsize: 1200 mandays, 8 months, $600.000.
Writing requirement specifications for tender documents.
Pre sales support. Creating standards for quality controlled developments. Modifying a retail merchandise system according to client’s specifications. Projectsize: 300 mandays, 3 months, $250.000.

And many more projects in the banking, chocolate manufacturing, retail, fashion and car manufacturing industry.

Education

Computer Science / Business Degree (AMBI).
Subjects included are mathematics, statistics, business organisation, information systems, system research and analysis, data base organisation, classification and coding techniques.

Skills

In total I have more than 10 years experience as Project Manager and other ICT Management functions, in which skills like peoplemanagement, organisation and implementation of processes have been a matter of fact, with emphasis on achieving the agreed-upon targets. My work was always customer focused with a combination of commerce and technical solutions. By using Prince2 principles at Cymax we achieved a short “time to market” of a new application. My style of work is characterised by strategic thinking with practical execution, teambuilding, coaching employees (intern and extern) and managing change in international environments.
My personal characteristics are involvement with the organisation I work for, integrity, and entrepreneur. I am able to adjust quickly to new organisations (cultures), methods and technique.
